The Hedge Fund Journal | 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds 2021

This is the 9th edition of our 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds report and is published in association with EY for the eighth time. We thank EY for their continued support.

Sixteen women featured in this report work for fifteen fund managers who are appearing for the first time namely US firms Kirkoswald Asset Management, Abrams Capital, McGinty Road Partners, Waterfall Asset Management, AlphaSimplex Group, Whale Rock Capital Management, Palmer Square Capital Management, SI Investment Management, Verition Fund Management and Rockefeller Asset Management; along with European firms Selwood Asset Management LLP, SCIO Capital LLP, Rhenman & Partners Asset Management and Capula Investment Management; and Asian firm, Picea Oriental Investment Management. The three new service providers are TC Group; Waystone and Jefferies.

The yearly awards, presented by Envestnet | PMC and Investment Advisor recognize active managers who have beaten their benchmarks, shown solid performance in general over time and are the best in their respective asset class.  Eligibility requires the portfolio manager have $200 million in assets and three years of experience.  Additionally, the managers also need to be open to new investment on the Envestnet platform.  Award finalists were chosen using Envestnet | PMC’s proprietary, systematic, and multi-factor methodology for evaluating managers, which takes a variety of qualitative and quantitative criteria into consideration, such as investment process and style, performance, firm profile, customer service, and tax efficiency. SSI Investment Management did not pay to participate.
